Absorption of carbon dioxide into aqueous blend of monoethanolamine and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate

► The mole ratio of the mixed absorbent of MEA to [Bmim]BF4 was selected to be 7:3. ► The mixed absorbent exhibited significantly higher absorption capacities and flexibility. ► The absorbent showed quality antioxidant activity even on High O2 concentration. ► The absorbent could be well recycled by thermal regeneration.
