Inhibition of methane hydrate re-formation in offshore pipelines with a kinetic hydrate inhibitor

► Dissociated methane from marine hydrates would rapidly re-form during processing. ► Subcooling of fluids was only in a range of 1.2 and 1.6 °C for dissociated water. ► The addition of 3.0 wt.% PVCap increases the subcooling six times. ► NaCl enhanced the subcooling at the same PVCap concentration. ► KHI would be cost-effective solution for hydrate mitigation.
