Reduction of the horizontal well's heel-toe effect with inflow control devices

► Horizontal well equipped with Inflow Control Devices is considered. ► Equation describing pressure distribution in such a well is formulated. ► Approximate analytical and precise numerical solutions are presented and compared. ► Expression for the heel-toe effect is derived from the analytical solution. ► The practical utility of the work is illustrated using published Troll oil field data.
