Gap like structure in a nonsuperconducting layered oxycarbonate Bi2+xSr4−xCu2CO3O8+δ single crystal

► We have investigated nonsuperconducting Bi2+xSr4-xCu2CO3O8+δ single crystals. ► Break junction tunneling magneto-spectroscopy has been performed. ► Evidence is found for a small “pseudogap” in a nonsuperconducting cuprate.
