Roles of superconducting magnetic bearings and active magnetic bearings in attitude control and energy storage flywheel

► The rotor model including gyroscopic couples was established based on superconducting ACESF. ► Suspension characteristics of both SMB and AMB were analyzed by simulation and experiments. ► Radial translation and tilting movement of the discal rotor in this ACESF were studied deeply. ► We proved that the whirling of rotor can be suppressed by SMB together with AMB.
