The effect of pinning on vortex states with attractive and repulsive interactions

► We model vortices with pairwise repulsive and attractive interaction terms. ► For long-range attraction the ground state consists of a single vortex cluster. ► In the presence of pinning a well-defined wetting-dewetting transition occurs. ► Stripe states appear for intermediate-range attraction and long-range repulsion.
