Changes on serum and hepatic lipidome after a chronic cadmium exposure in Wistar rats

- Cadmium-exposed rats show features similar to a human metabolic syndrome.
- Cadmium exposure provokes an atherogenic phenotype which is evidentiated by small LDL and HDL alterations.
- In cadmium LOAEL dose exposition, small HDL subfractions increases and correlate with a hypertriglyceridemia.
