Shift of high-density lipoprotein size distribution toward large particles in patients with proteinuria

► Relative HDL size distribution is shifted towards large particles in proteinuric patients. ► Small HDL3a, 3b and 3c presented a negative correlation with proteinuria. ► HDL subclasses were cholesterol-poor in patients. ► Data suggest a selective renal loss of small HDL dependent on the degree of proteinuria.
