Role of training activities for the reduction of pre-analytical errors in laboratory samples from primary care

► We detected an increased number of preanalytical mistakes (PE) in our area. ► The major number are samples provided by primary care centers. ► We made a study with an intervention that was an educational program focused on nurses. ► The incidence of several types of PEs increased after the educational intervention. ► We intend to continue this research with a detailed analysis of error causes.
