Development of a point-of-care assay system for measurement of presepsin (sCD14-ST)

► PATHFAST Presepsin enables to assay presepsin in human whole blood. ► The sensitivity was sufficient to detect presepsin of the healthy group. ► This assay correlated well with a previously reported two-step presepsin ELISA. ► Presepsin was significantly higher in the sepsis group than in the healthy group. ► This diagnostic tool is suitable for sepsis in various clinical situations.
