Synthesis and characterization of magnetic β-cyclodextrin-chitosan nanoparticles as nano-adsorbents for removal of methyl blue

► A fast and efficient method to remove dyes was proposed. ► The adsorption capacity of the nanodispersion was much higher than of dissolved chitosan. ► The CDCM showed good durability and easy regeneration. ► The magnetic properties encourage CDCM to be used in wastewater treatment.
