Environmental control of lignin peroxidase, manganese peroxidase, and laccase activities in forest floor layers in humid Asia

► The ligninolytic enzyme activity varied depending on depth and pH of forest floor. ► The activities of Mn peroxidase and laccase were detected in less acidic L layers. ► No activity of Mn peroxidase was detected in acidic FH layers. ► The high activity of lignin peroxidase was detected in acidic FH layers (pH < 5.0).
