Enhanced sensitivity and fast turnaround time in laboratory diagnosis for bovine paratuberculosis in faecal samples

The results of this study show that complete kits with refined automatable protocols for DNA extraction in combination with real-time PCR assays for detection of MAP can compete with sensitive cultivation of the pathogen in liquid medium.
