A symmetric GKN-type theorem and symmetric differential operators

We characterize the two-point boundary conditions which determine symmetric operators in Hilbert space and prove a symmetric GKN-Type theorem. This for general symmetric differential expressions of any order, even or odd, and for arbitrary deficiency index. The self-adjoint operators are a special case.
