Progression of peripheral arterial occlusive disease is associated with Chlamydia pneumoniae seropositivity and can be inhibited by antibiotic treatment

This study provides good evidence that C. pneumoniae are involved in the progression of PAOD and that antibiotic treatment directed against C. pneumoniae is effective in inhibiting this process.
