Conclusion. - Diagnosis of myasthenia gravis is often missed or delayed in the elderly, because of a broad differential diagnosis in older people, and because the high incidence of the disease in middle and old age is often overlooked. The outcome of myasthenia gravis in older people is far from simple, and immunomodulation proves to be necessary in most cases. However, quality of life of surviving patients appears good.
