Bowel lumen distension methods (colo, entero, gastroduodenoCT) enable accurate analysis of the enteric wall. These methods have various fields of application, but they are particularly valid for tumoral and inflammatory diseases. For most of the classical indications, they should replace fluoroscopy opacifications which may however still provide useful dynamic information. With improved quality of the images obtained with high-performance post-processing tools (MPR, VRT, …), contrast CT also provides important information on the peritoneal environment of the bowel and must therefore be used more systematically.
