Otite adhésive

Chronic adhesive otitis is the final stage of the pars tensa atelectasis. It should be differentiated from the fibro-adhesive otitis which results from chronic mucosal inflammation in the tympanic cavity, which leads to productive fibrosis in the middle ear cavity. The pathogenesis of chronic adhesive otitis is complex and it has not been completely explained yet. Its therapeutic management is essentially preventive, consisting in early treatment of the tympanic membrane retraction.
