Isolation and synthesis of a dimeric dihydrochalcone from Agapanthus africanus

A new dimeric dihydrochalcone was isolated from the roots of Agapanthus africanus, and synthesized via a pericyclic [π2s + π2s] photocyclo-addition of the corresponding chalcone.
