Preparation, characterization and photocatalytic properties of REFeO3 (REÂ =Â Sm, Eu, Gd)

Nanometer materials of rare earth mixed oxides REFeO3 (RE = Sm, Eu, Gd) with the structure of perovskite-type were synthesized by the sol-gel method in the citric acid system and characterized by X-ray diffractometer and TEM. These mixed oxides showed high photocatalytic activities in the degradation of various water-soluble dyes.
