Synthesis of silica-supported poly-ω-(methylseleno)undecylsiloxane palladium(0) complex and its catalytic properties for Heck arylation of alkenes

The silica-supported poly-ω-(methylseleno)undecylsiloxane palladium(0) complex ('Si'SePd(0)) is a highly active and stereoselective catalyst for arylation of butyl acrylate and acrylamide with aryl halides. This polymeric selenide palladium catalyst can be recovered and reused without noticeable loss of activity.
