Hydrogen adsorption by ball milled C60

High energy ball milling of C60 powder leads to increase of cell parameter of FCC structure and with prolonged milling to collapse of molecules with formation of amorphous carbon. Hydrogen adsorption by milled C60 at room temperature increases proportionally to decrease of real density of sample. Maximum observed adsorption (0.7 wt%) was observed in semi-collapsed fullerite sample at room temperature and 300 bar hydrogen pressure.
