Curvaton scenario and inhomogeneous reheat scenario with low scale inflation

We discuss the compatibility of low scale inflation with the curvaton and inhomogeneous reheat (IRS) scenario. The main constraint on the curvaton scenario is that the curvaton field has to dominate the energy density before decay. For the curvaton scenario in its simplest form this implies that the Hubble constant during inflation has to be large H∗>108 GeV, but this bound may be evaded in non-standard set-ups. The IRS scenario is constrained by the requirement of a gaussian perturbation spectrum, and by thermal effects. Only in a small region of parameter space is it compatible with TeV scale inflation.
