Protective effect of superoxide dismutase in radiation-induced intestinal inflammation

Treatment with SOD1 decreases oxidative stress and adhesion molecule upregulation in response to abdominal irradiation. This is associated with an attenuation of the radiation-induced intestinal inflammatory response.
