Changes in P2Y2 receptor localization on adrenaline- and noradrenaline-containing chromaffin cells in the rat adrenal gland during development and aging
چکیده انگلیسی
In conclusion, this study suggests that ATP, acting through P2Y2 receptors, may influence the phenotypic expression of chromaffin cells during the development and aging of the rat adrenal gland. However, during early development, when the chromaffin cells are actively dividing and during aging, when the adrenal medullary cells are known to show hyperplastic lesions, ATP acting through P2Y2 receptors may be involved in other physiological activities, such as proliferation and/or differentiation of the chromaffin cells associated with their adrenaline or noradrenaline phenotype.
