In recent decades a prevalence of respiratory and cardiovascular disorders has increased rapidly. Both for obesity as for asthma, in parallel augmentation were observed in many epidemiological studies. These two disorders are noticed to rise together. Both are genetically dependent, however environmental factors are crucial for their development as well. Studies based on the searching the candidates for both asthma and obesity genes may help to understand better a pathogenesis of these conditions. Between genes common for both disorders are genes for angiotnesin convering enzyme ACE, beta-adrenergic receptor ADRB2, vitamin D receptor VDR, leptin LEP, protein kinase C PRKCA, tumor necrosis factor alpha TNF alpha. In latest studies with the analysis of GWAS data there were new candidates elucidated - genes GNPDA2, PTPRD, ROBO.
