Equilibrium studies on enantioselective liquid-liquid extraction of homophenylalanine enantiomers with metal-BINAP complexes

► Extraction of Hph enantiomers with metal-BINAP complexes is reported. ► Copper(I) complex allows separation of Hph enantiomers with the highest selectivity. ► A homogeneous reaction model is established to model the extraction system. ► Excellent agreement between the model predictions and experimental data was observed.
