Evolutionary input selection for the non-linear identification of complex processes

The proposed algorithm was used to select the key variables that determine the separation process in conventional combine harvesters. The results of the stepwise selection process pointed to the importance of a driving torque measurement on both the crop elevator and the threshing drum to realize an automatic crop throughput control system.
