چکیده انگلیسی
ⶠWe sampled a regenerating northern forested wetland 14-years following whole-tree harvesting. ⶠWe compared biogeochemical cycling and chemical fluxes to non-harvested reference and riparian stands. Main differences were nearly twice the acidity production due to nitrogen immobilization and eight times the acidity consumption due to sulfate reduction in the harvested/regenerated stand. However, both stand types were net acidity sinks and its export did not differ between stands. ⶠSoil in the riparian zone neutralized acidity input from the harvested/regenerated stand and a strong hydro-chemical linkage occurred between the riparian zone and stream. ⶠWhole-tree harvesting had no effects on stream acidification in this managed northern wetland.
