Ecosystem carbon storage and partitioning in a tropical seasonal forest in Southwestern China

▶ We quantified the whole-ecosystem carbon storage in a tropical seasonal rain forest in Asia. ▶ The total carbon stock in the tropical seasonal rain forest was 303 t C ha−1. ▶ About 70% of the ecosystem carbon was stored in living biomass, especially in trees. ▶ Mineral soil accounted for 30% of the total carbon storage in this ecosystem.
