Analysis of lithium deinsertion/insertion in LiyFePO4 with a simple mathematical model

► An analysis of the onsets of charge/discharge curves of LiyFePO4 is performed by means of a mathematical model. ► It reveals a dependence of the apparent “particle radius” on the current density. ► The mosaic model, introduced some years ago for lithium insertion/deinsertion in LiyFePO4, is invoked to account for this unusual dependence.
