Drug-GSH interaction on GSH-Au modified electrodes: A cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy study

► CV and EIS studies of gold electrodes modified with glutathione. ► The blocking properties were analyzed in terms of a disk type electrode with active sites. ► CV, EIS parameters and Digisim calculated ET rates were used. ► The interaction of doxorubicin and mitoxantrone drugs with Au/GSH-electrode is discussed. ► Semiempirical PM3-calculations account for the ion gating effect of Ca2+ and drugs.
