Chronoamperometric and morphological investigation of nucleation and growth mechanism of poly(azure A) thin films

► Poly(AA) forms with successive two instantaneous nucleation mechanisms besides random adsorption process. ► Polymerization causes broadening and blue-shifting of main band in UV-vis. spectra. ► Polymerization rate of AA is highly related to radical cation formation potential. ► Peak current vs. scan rate plots for poly(AA) show an adsorption-controlled process.
