Development and application of “The Two Image” method for accurate object recognition and color analysis

► In image analysis, separation of objects from background (segmentation) is a key step. ► If the object is semitransparent then background color may bias the color analysis. ► If object colors are similar to background, segmentation is difficult/impossible. ► Taking a backlighted and a front lighted image eliminates these difficulties. ► Examples of similar colors to background, and semitransparent objects are given.
