Inactivation of Clostridium sporogenes spores on stainless-steel using heat and an organic acidic chemical agent

► A food-grade acidic chemical for reduction of Clostridium sporogenes spores was tested. ► The chemical was made of fatty acids and lactate esters. ► A 10% concentration of the chemical killed all spores after 60 min exposure at 75 °C.
