Inpatient treatment costs of status epilepticus in adults in Germany

Acute treatment of SE is responsible for a high proportion of hospital costs associated with epilepsy. With a high incidence of SE in the elderly population, the health care systems will face an increasing number of presentations with SE and its associated costs, underlining the necessity to further evaluate the burden and optimize the treatment of SE.
