Child maltreatment in an incarcerated sample in China: Prediction for crime types in adulthood

► The prevalence of child maltreatment in an incarcerated sample was surveyed. ► The relationships between child maltreatment and offense types were examined. ► Almost 90% of the participants reported more than one form of child maltreatment. ► Childhood physical abuse significantly predicted violent crime.
