Parents' perceptions of their participation in mandated family group meetings

► FGMs are a legislated forum for child protection decision-making in Queensland. ► We interviewed ten parents who participated in FGMs. ► Parents valued feeling respected, having their opinions heard, and being supported. ► Parents demonstrated a relatively sophisticated understanding of the meeting process.
