Predicting PTSD from the Child Behavior Checklist: Data from a field study with children and adolescents in foster care

►We tested three CBCL subscales as screenings for PTSD in children and adolescents. ►CBCL-PTSD scales showed no significant correlations with PTSD symptom severity. ►Overall, predictive properties of the respective scales were not sufficient. ►We recommend the use of specific instruments for screening PTSD in youth.
