The role of attention in the affective life of people with severe or profound intellectual disabilities

► Attention plays an important role in the onset and regulation of emotions in people without disabilities. ► We investigate this role for people with severe or profound ID. ► No relationship between attention and the onset of emotion. ► Less attention to negative than to positive emotions which points to emotion regulation. ► As in the population of people without disabilities, lower HR was associated with attention.
