Loneliness among students with special educational needs in mainstream seventh grade

► Students with ASD are lonelier than typically developing students in 7th grade. ► This is not the case for students with motor and/or sensory disabilities. ► Same-sex social self-concept is negatively related to loneliness for all students. ► Opposite-sex social self-concept is not related to loneliness for students with SEN. ► The number of friends is not associated with loneliness for students with SEN.
