Effects of exercise on physical fitness in children with intellectual disability

► We assessed the effects of physical exercise on general physical fitness in ID children. ► We analyzed the results depending on exercise participation and intellectual functioning. ► ID children score lower on physical fitness tests than typically developing children even after exercise participation. ► Better endurance and balance skills are observed in borderline ID than in mild ID children.
