Improved GFP gene transfection mediated by polyamidoamine dendrimer-functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes with high biocompatibility

▶ PAMAM dendrimers were covalently functionalized onto MWCNT surface in high density. ▶ MWCNT-PAMAM hybrid exhibited good dispersibility and stability in aqueous solution. ▶ The hybrid shows improved GFP transfection efficiency than MWCNT-COOH and pure PAMAM. ▶ The hybrid possesses better biocompatibility compared with MWCNT-COOH and pure PAMAM. ▶ The hybrid owns potential applications in gene delivery systems.
