On-field study of anaerobic digestion full-scale plants (Part II): New approaches in monitoring and evaluating process efficiency

► We aimed at a new approach to evaluate anaerobic digestion process (AD) efficiency. ► A correct parameter should compare full-scale AD yields to optimized lab-scale AD. ► The idea: compare bio-methane potential (BMP) of feed to residual BMP in digestates. ► The new indicator (bio-methane yield, BMY) was verified in 3 full-scale processes. ► This tool is suitable in routine evaluations of full-scale AD efficiency.
