Surface carbohydrate analysis and bioethanol production of sugarcane bagasse pretreated with the white rot fungus, Ceriporiopsis subvermispora and microwave hydrothermolysis

► In production of 2nd generation bioethanol, pretreatments are a key initial step. ► Pretreatment with white rot fungus and microwave reaction increased hydrolyzability. ► Crystalline and non-crystalline cellulose were exposed by the pretreatment. ► Bioethanol was produced by simultaneous saccharification and fermentation.
