Significant factors selection in the chemical and enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulosic residues by a genetic algorithm analysis and comparison with the standard Plackett-Burman methodology

► In the present report, we study the factors affecting hydrolysis of three lignocellulosic feedstocks. ► Classic Plackett-Burman analysis and a genetic algorithm based strategy were applied. ► GA allowed to identify significant factors, not taken into account by classic analysis.
