Separation of furfural from monosaccharides by nanofiltration

► Removal of furfural and concentration of xylose and glucose in model solution were examined with two commercial NF membrances. ► The rejections of the three solutes were significantly influenced by the operating conditions. ► Concentration operation greatly increased the concentrations of xylose and glucose. ► Diafiltration operation greatly removed furfural.
