Characterization of compost produced from separated pig manure and a variety of bulking agents at low initial C/N ratios

► We studied the composting of pig manure with and without bulking agents. ► We measured compost stability (OUR test) and maturity (germinations test). ► Suitable bulking agents were sawdust, chopped straw and shredded green waste. ► Absence of bulking agent resulted in poor compost stability. ► Results of germination and respiration test were not correlated.
