Evaluation of the human tactile sense to microtexturing on plastic molding surfaces

► A distinguishing change-point for sensations was observed at a texture pitch of around 100 μm. ► Tactile recognition depends on the pitch of the texture, and not on the height. ► Micro-grooved textures were fabricated on plastic molding. ► The mechanism was investigated by force measurement.
