The positive effects of physical activity on physical and mental health are without controversy. However, the results of the nationwide surveys of the Robert Koch Institute show, that only a small amount of the adult and adolescent population achieves the recommendations on physical activity and every fourth child is physical inactive. To promote physical activity evaluated measures, which include behavioral as well as environmental approaches, should be implemented in the future.
